About Kanade
Kanade (from the Japanese kanaderu, “to play music”) is a small library of original background music and sound effects, free to use in videos, games and apps.
How the sounds are made
Every sound is synthesized from scratch by a program — oscillators, filters and reverb shaped note by note. No recordings or third-party sample packs are used, so the rights are simple.
BGM is rendered so that it loops without a gap. Loudness is matched across the library (BGM around −18 LUFS). Under narration, lowering BGM by about 12 dB is a good starting point.

Can I use these in monetized YouTube videos?+
Yes. The sounds are not registered with Content ID, so you should not receive claims. If you ever do, please contact us.
Do I need to give credit?+
No. If you would like to, something like “Music: Kanade (https://kanade.mori22.com)” is perfect.
Can I put them in a game or app that I sell?+
Yes, as part of your game or app. Selling or redistributing the audio files on their own is not allowed.
Can I edit them?+
Yes. Trim, loop, change the tempo or pitch, add effects — anything that fits your project.
What format are the files?+
WAV, 44.1 kHz, 16-bit, stereo. The player on this site streams a lighter version so it starts quickly.
API for developers
The library can be read over HTTP. No key is needed. Please keep automated downloads reasonable.
